About Friends of Angel Bus
There are three different organizations involved in the fulfillment of Angel Bus missions. These are Angel Bus itself, the FMCA Friends of Angel Bus chapter, and the Angel Bus Support Group. Although the folks in these organizations support each other's efforts, there are no organizational interconnections between them. This separation is necessary for reasons of insurance, but it goes beyond that. Both Angel Bus and the FMCA chapter are part of much larger organizations that have other goals and making commitments outside their scope would not be appropriate.
The actual missions (trips) are run by Angel Bus, an operation of Mercy Medical Airlift, a national non-profit organization. They ensure that the passengers actually need the mission, that their condition will not be worsened by it, and that the driver is qualified. They actually plan the mission and inform everyone involved as to the schedule.
The Friends of Angel Bus chapter is an FMCA social chapter that is part of the International Area. We will hold rallies and meetings where we have a good time and share our experiences. In addition to having fun and meeting folks with whom we share an interest, we will also have a mission of recruiting new motor home owners for both Angel Bus and our chapter.
The Angel Bus Support Group has the mission of helping members of any RV organization start their own program to support Angel Bus. This may be a chapter within their organization or just a few members who spread the word at their meetings.
Anyone is welcome to join any, or all, of these three groups. We hope that all the chapter members will join Angel Bus to help those in need. If you are active in some other non-FMCA organization and are willing to take a leadership position, please contact the Support Group for help in getting something going there.
