Why Should I Join Friends of Angel Bus?

The Friends of Angel Bus chapter exists to recruit and support FMCA members who volunteer their time and the use of their coach to help those in need through the Angel Bus program. While not all members are drivers, the rewards are similar in knowing that by supporting chapter activites you are helping make a difference.

As a member you will have the opportunity to meet other volunteers to share both your experiences and theirs. The chapter’s newsletter also provides information to help inform volunteers and potential volunteers about what is involved in Angel Bus missions and in the chapter’s activities. The Friends of Angel Bus chapter exists to give those who are interested in Angel Bus the opportunity to join together with others who share their interest to have a good time, to learn more about what is involved in an Angel Bus mission, and (most importantly) to recruit and support additional volunteers for Angel Bus. While not all chapter members are volunteer drivers, they too can feel the satisfaction of making a difference by helping in the chapter’s efforts.

Why Should I Join Angel Bus?

Volunteer Drivers tells us about the rewards they get from running missions under the original Angel Bus and some who had helped others with a lift in their coaches, but not within any formal organization. Garry Hamann was one of those and he says this about his experience. "I wasn't aware of this program (Angel Bus) but had the opportunity to help out a family last summer by taking a bed ridden cancer patient to Philly from Maine. I'm not sure what this family would have done without the use of a bus to comfortably take the patient for help and bring their family along. As in too many cases, the cost alone would be prohibitive. It was a very humbling experience and to be able to help others in this need (through AngelBus) would be very gratifying for me."

To be candid, we are very motivated and focused on supporting Angel bus but we do understand that good fellowship and socializing is important as well. That's where we are counting on the character and spirit of the FMCA family to help us create meaningful and exciting chapter activities. Please join us and help figure it all out!

We make a special effort to let everyone know about Angel Bus and our chapter; share our experiences and what we learned to help others on their missions; and provide material that members can take with them in their FMCA activites and Area Ralies to help recruit more Angel Bus volunteers.

If you have questions, please use the Request Information link above or contact Friends of Angel Bus Chapter, President. You do not need to be an Angel Bus volunteer to join the chapter.

It doesn’t take a miracle to get people to the medical care they need, but it does require a few angels. With your help, Angel Bus can provide the shortest distance between home and hope!
